Browns Investments PLC (BI) is an investment vehicle. The Company's principal activities are investments in listed and non-listed companies and investments in subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, which are mainly engaged in the plantation management, agriculture, hydro power, leisure and construction sectors. Its segments include Investments, Leisure and Travel, Plantation, Constructions, Hydro and Solar power, and Real estate. BI invests in various sectors, including hotel, power generation, portfolio investments and entertainment. The Company owns over six leisure properties in Sri Lanka. The Company has diversified its plantations into cinnamon, commercial timber and coconut. BI also manages a substantial portfolio of investments in equity shares, other financial instruments and real estate. The Company owns over four mini hydro plants located within the plantation estates, and possesses a collective capacity of 4.9 megawatts.
