The Company's principal business is to acquire, originate and maintain a portfolio consisting primarily of construction mortgages that are secured by development-stage residential real property. The Company's investment objective is to maintain a portfolio of mortgages that generates attractive returns, relative to risk, in order to permit it to pay distributions to its shareholders. The Company provides short-term, course of construction financing to builders of residential, wood-frame construction projects in Western Canada. It provides loan brokerage services to homebuilders, commercial developers and landowners. The Company provides commercial loan and property brokerage services to the Inland Empire and San Diego markets. The Company's portfolio is managed by Builders Capital Management Corp.
