Burcon NutraScience Corp (Burcon) is a Canada-based research and development company. The Company is engaged in development of plant protein extraction and purification technology in the field of functional, renewable plant proteins. The Company and its subsidiary are engaged in developing a wide array of protein products, which includes Peazazz, a pea protein, Puratein and Supertein canola proteins, and CLARISOY, a soy protein. Its Peazazz is a pea protein that is used as a dairy alternative product. Its Supertein is a canola protein isolate comprised of albumin proteins and Puratein is also a canola protein isolate comprised mainly of globulin proteins, which is used in baked goods, protein cereal bars, dressings, sauces and meat substitutes. The functional properties of Puratein include emulsification, gel formation, thickening and formation of heat-stable foams.
