Clarke Inc. (Clarke) is an investment holding company with investments in a diversified group of businesses. It operates in four segments. The Freight Transportation Segment includes the international shipping, trucking and intermodal operations, all of which relate to the movement of freight in return for service fees. The Warehouse Segment represents the non-freight transportation businesses, including warehousing and related 50%-owned real estate, where revenue is derived primarily from rental arrangements. The Investments Segment represents the Company’s marketable securities portfolio, consisting of publicly traded equity securities and fixed income securities. The Other Segment consists of the wholly owned real estate used in Clarke’s rail terminal and trucking operations, as well the treasury and executive functions. On January 15, 2007, Clarke sold its 50% interest in the warehouse. In February 2008, Clarke acquired the remaining interest in Granby Industries Income Fund.
