Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company PSC (Aman) is a United Arab Emirates-based company engaged in the provision of all classes of insurance and reinsurance products and services in accordance with the Islamic sharia principles. The Company is organized, along with its subsidiaries, into two business segments: the Takaful activities segment includes the general, life and medical takaful business, and the Investment activities segment covers investment and cash management for the Company’s own account. Its General Insurance products include motor, fire, engineering, liability and marine, and Life and Medical products include group family takaful, home finance family takaful, credit family takaful, banca takaful and healthcare. As of December 31, 2011, the Company’s subsidiaries included Nowat Investments LLC, which is involved in the investment in commercial, industrial and agricultural enterprises and management, and Amity Health LLC, which provides medical billing services.
