Freegold Ventures Limited (Freegold) is an exploration-stage company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, carries on the business of acquiring and exploring precious metal properties in the United States and Canada. The Company's material mineral properties are the Golden Summit Property and the Shorty Creek Project both located in Alaska. The Company's principal objective is to explore its existing mineral properties. Its secondary objective is to locate, evaluate and acquire other mineral properties, and to finance their exploration, either through equity financing, by way of joint venture or option agreements or through a combination of both. The Company's Golden Summit project is located approximately 20 miles (approximately 30 kilometers) by road northeast of the City of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Company's Shorty Creek Project is located over four kilometers to the south of the all-weather paved Elliott Highway and within the Livengood-Tolovana Mining District.
