Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited is engaged in manufacturing and selling of sugar. The Company is involved in the development of sugar cane varieties on its approximately 1,500 acre experimental farms and in adjoining areas. It is also engaged in producing ethanol from sugar cane molasses. The Company has a sugar cane crushing capacity of over 7,500 tons per day. It produces various grades of ethanol, including extra neutral alcohol (ENA Anhydrous) (99.9%), ENA (over 96%) and industrial grade (over 92%). The Company exports its ethanol to European and Far Eastern markets. It has also invested in purification and liquification of carbon dioxide (CO2). Its ethanol is used in industries, such as pharmaceuticals, aerosols, cleaning products, perfumes, printing inks, fabric softeners, vinegar, preserving agents and chemical manufacturing. Its manufacturing facility is located in the city of Mirpurkhas, Sindh, and has a production capacity of approximately 160 metric tons per day.
