Why is Par Drugs & Chemicals Ltd falling/rising?

06-Sep-2026

As of 05-Sep, Par Drugs & Chemicals Ltd's stock price is 156.71, down 5.0%, despite a strong 1-year return of 57.48%. The decline is linked to recent underperformance and high valuation concerns, but the company remains net-debt free with impressive financial growth.

As of 05-Sep, Par Drugs & Chemicals Ltd is experiencing a decline in its stock price, currently at 156.71, which reflects a change of -8.24 (-5.0%). Despite this drop, the stock has shown strong performance over various periods, with a 1-year return of 57.48%, significantly outperforming the market benchmark (BSE500) which returned only 1.51% in the same timeframe.

The stock's recent decline can be attributed to its underperformance today, where it lagged behind its sector by 5.27%. Additionally, while the stock is trading above its moving averages across multiple timeframes, the immediate market reaction has led to a decrease in price.

However, it is important to note that the company remains net-debt free and has reported impressive growth in its financial metrics, including a 62.2% increase in profit before tax and a 43.7% increase in profit after tax compared to the previous four-quarter average. The highest net sales recorded at Rs 31.28 crore also indicate strong operational performance.

Despite the current price drop, the stock's overall trajectory has been positive over the past year, and it continues to attract investor interest, as evidenced by a significant rise in delivery volume. Nonetheless, the stock's premium valuation compared to peers and a high PEG ratio of 5.7 may contribute to investor caution, impacting its price movement in the short term.
