Are Semac Construct latest results good or bad?

06-Nov-2025

Semac Construction's latest results are concerning, with a significant drop in net profit to ₹0.01 crores despite a rise in sales. The low operating margin and heavy reliance on non-operating income indicate ongoing challenges, leading to a "STRONG SELL" recommendation from investors.

Semac Construction's latest results indicate a concerning situation for the company. While net sales for Q2 FY26 increased by 11.09% quarter-on-quarter and showed a significant year-on-year growth of 76.20%, the consolidated net profit turned negative at ₹0.01 crores, marking a dramatic decline from a profit of ₹1.05 crores in the previous quarter. This represents a 100.95% drop in profitability, which is alarming.

The company's operating margin remains low at 2.01%, and the return on equity is just 7.35%, reflecting weak capital efficiency. Furthermore, the company's heavy reliance on non-operating income, which constituted 348.28% of profit before tax, raises questions about the sustainability of its earnings.

Investor sentiment is cautious, as indicated by a proprietary advisory score of 29 out of 100, placing it firmly in the "STRONG SELL" territory. The stock has also experienced significant volatility, trading at ₹413.85, down 27.01% from its 52-week high.

Overall, while there are signs of revenue growth, the inability to translate this into consistent profitability and the ongoing operational challenges suggest that the latest results are more negative than positive.
