Are Mac Charles (India) Ltd latest results good or bad?

09-May-2026

Mac Charles (India) Ltd's latest results show impressive revenue growth of 1,567.71% year-on-year, but the company still reported a net loss of ₹15.34 crores due to high debt and interest expenses, raising concerns about its financial sustainability.

The latest results for Mac Charles (India) Ltd present a mixed picture. On one hand, the company achieved remarkable revenue growth of 1,567.71% year-on-year, with net sales rising from ₹1.92 crores in Q4 FY25 to ₹32.02 crores in Q4 FY26. This indicates a significant recovery in operational performance.

However, despite this impressive revenue increase, the company reported a net loss of ₹15.34 crores for the quarter, which is a 57.98% improvement compared to the previous year’s loss of ₹36.51 crores. The operating margin, excluding other income, improved substantially to 75.64%, a notable turnaround from the previous year's negative margin.

The major concern lies in the company's financial health, particularly its high debt burden, reflected in a debt-to-equity ratio of 15.38 times, which is critically high. This excessive leverage has resulted in substantial interest expenses of ₹36.72 crores, which overshadowed the operational gains and contributed to the continued net losses.

In summary, while Mac Charles has shown operational recovery with significant revenue growth and improved margins, the ongoing financial distress due to high debt levels and interest obligations raises serious concerns about its overall performance and sustainability.

About Mac Charles (India) Ltd stock-summary
stock-summary
Mac Charles (India) Ltd
Micro Cap
Hotels & Resorts
Mac Charles (India) Ltd, incorporated in Sep.'79, had established its hotel in collaboration with Holiday Inn, a division of Bass, UK. The hotel was promoted by C B Pradhanani, an NRI tycoon from Dubai. The five-star hotel made a soft opening in Nov.'86. In the next two years, the facilities gradually became functional and the hotel additives were in full swing. Failure to achieve planned business volumes, coupled with huge interest burden, sent it into the red.
