02-May-2026 | Source : BSEWe regret to inform that an accident occurred on May 02 2026 at Moonidih Washery of BCCL. During slurry loading operations four persons engaged in the activity by the consumers were trapped due to a sudden slide of slurry at Heap No. C at around 5:00 PM. Immediate rescue efforts were undertaken; however the four persons could not be saved. Necessary actions have been initiated at the site and efforts are underway to manage the situation. The incident has been reported to the concerned authorities under the Factories Act 1948. Further as the Moonidih Washery is presently under renovation this incident is not expected to have any significant impact on the production and other activities of the washery.
