Are Baroda Extrusion latest results good or bad?

12-Nov-2025

Baroda Extrusion's latest results show a significant year-on-year profit increase of 528.57% to ₹0.88 crores, but flat performance compared to the previous quarter and declining margins raise concerns about operational efficiency and profitability. Overall, while there is some growth, the results are more concerning than favorable.

The latest results for Baroda Extrusion present a mixed picture. On one hand, the company reported a net profit of ₹0.88 crores for Q2 FY26, which is a significant year-on-year increase of 528.57%. However, this figure is flat compared to the previous quarter, and when considering the exceptional profit reported in Q1 FY26, it indicates a sharp decline in operational performance.

Revenue for the same quarter was ₹38.06 crores, reflecting a 17.01% decrease from the previous quarter but a 15.12% increase year-on-year. This suggests that while the company is growing its sales compared to last year, it is facing challenges in maintaining sequential growth.

Moreover, the operating margin has contracted to 2.86%, down from 4.64% in the previous quarter, indicating increasing cost pressures. The profit after tax (PAT) margin also fell dramatically from 40.67% in Q1 to 2.31% in Q2, highlighting concerns about the company's profitability.

Overall, while there are some positive year-on-year growth indicators, the sequential performance raises red flags about operational efficiency and margin compression. The financial health of the company is further complicated by its negative book value and thin margins, making the latest results more concerning than favorable.

Is Baroda Extrusion overvalued or undervalued?

Valuation Metrics and What They Indicate

Baroda Extrusion’s price-to-earnings (PE) ratio stands at approximately 28.75, which is notably higher than many of its peers in the industrial products space. The price-to-book (P/B) ratio is also elevated at 7.01, signalling that investors are paying a premium relative to the company’s net asset value. Enterprise value multiples such as EV to EBIT (25.39) and EV to EBITDA (24.74) further reinforce the notion of a stretched valuation.

However, the company’s PEG ratio is remarkably low at 0.07, suggesting that the stock’s price growth relative to earnings growth is very favourable. This metric often points to undervaluation when considered in isolation, but it must be weighed alongside other factors.
