Why is Esab India falling/rising?

04-Dec-2025

As of 04-Dec, Esab India Ltd's stock price is 5,767.75, down 0.07% after a brief gain period. Despite strong long-term growth and solid fundamentals, high valuation concerns and recent price declines have affected investor sentiment.

As of 04-Dec, Esab India Ltd's stock price is currently at 5,767.75, reflecting a decrease of 3.85 points or 0.07%. This decline follows a trend reversal after three consecutive days of gains, indicating that the stock has experienced a slight pullback. Despite this recent drop, the stock has shown strong performance over the past week, gaining 1.55% compared to a decline of 0.53% in the benchmark Sensex.

In the longer term, Esab India has demonstrated significant growth, with a remarkable 299.69% increase over the past five years, although it has faced challenges in the short term, evidenced by a year-to-date decline of 2.38%. The company's fundamentals remain strong, highlighted by a high average Return on Equity (ROE) of 42.90% and a healthy operating profit growth rate of 27.84%.

However, the stock's valuation is considered very expensive, trading at a premium with a Price to Book Value of 21.3, which may contribute to the current price pressure. Additionally, while the stock's profits have increased by 8.2% over the past year, the negative return of -6.88% during the same period suggests that investor sentiment may be cautious due to the high valuation relative to its peers.

Overall, the combination of a recent price decline after a series of gains, high valuation concerns, and mixed short-term performance against a backdrop of strong long-term fundamentals contributes to the current movement in Esab India's stock price.
