Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has decided to forgo plans for a green hydrogen unit at the Mathura facility. In July 2021, IndianOil was set to build the nation’s first green hydrogen plant at the Mathura refinery to replace carbon-emitting fuels used in refining raw crude oil. But, after closer examination, the company opted to pursue this type of energy production in its Panipat refinery and petrochemical complex instead.

Meanwhile, other major refineries such as BPCL and HPCL are also in the process of constructing green hydrogen plants in India, ranging from 0.5 – 10 KTA in various states.
